Why the bar is
where it is.
A general translator might get most of it right. A specialist translator knows which details will end the conversation if they're wrong.
We only work with translators who spent years inside the field they translate. That means the person translating a patent application has written them. The person translating a clinical trial protocol has worked on them. The person translating a supply agreement has negotiated one.
It's the difference between producing something that reads well and producing something that works.

We hire for what
you know, not just
what you speak.
We don't take generalists. The people on our roster spent years inside a field before they translated a word of it. Corporate law, engineering, clinical trials.
If your background is broad rather than deep, this isn't the right fit. If you spent a decade inside one subject and happen to speak two languages fluently, it probably is.

Stage 1
Send your work
Send your language pairs, your specialist fields and a few samples of recent work. The CV helps. The samples are what we read.
We're looking for accuracy in terminology, judgment in tone and an understanding of what the document is actually for. If your work shows that, we'll move forward.

Stage 2
Translate a test document
We'll send you a short piece in your specialist field. You translate it. We evaluate how you handled the technical content, whether you caught the details that matter and how well the translation would work in its intended context.
If it meets the standard, you're on the roster.
